Master Plan

“Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain…”

Psalms 127:1

Building Addition

Why is the building addition is needed?

We have outgrown the building we are in, so in order to continue caring for the needs of our community, we will need to add more space. The need is for more seating, more parking, and more space for the kids. We're prioritizing the space for the kids at the same time that we are also going to attempt to provide some space for the other two areas of need.

What does the addition consist of?

The plan is to add five classrooms and a bathroom, for the kids, to the north of the current building. One of the classrooms will be the nursery for the youngest children and because the current mother's room will be converted to a hallway, one of those rooms will become the new mother's room.

There will be 32 feet added to the west wall of the auditorium to enlarge the seating space. This will add around 150 possible seats to the seating space.

There has been a new parking area recently added to the northeast corner of the parking lot, near the sign.

The Plans

  • Your Plans are projects that the people of Cornerstone have started in hopes to raise the funds for a building addition. These smaller projects are put on by the individuals mentioned. You can contact them directly with any questions about any particular project. If you have a project that you would like to start, please contact Sarah Stoutner sarah@cornerstonekalona.com

  • Our Plans are the projects that the church of Cornerstone will put on. These projects are open to the community and open for anyone to help. If you have an idea for Our Plans project please contact Sarah Stoutner sarah@cornerstonekalona.com

  • We are asking for faith commitments as indicators of how quickly we can expect the funds to come through for the building project. This is money that can be expected over and above the regular tithes.

This requires trusting God to provide and a willingness to make some financial sacrifices.

If you can do a Faith Commitment, please grab a Master Plan Booklet and fill your Faith Commitment Card or contact sarah@cornerstonekalona.com to commit over email.

Hello everyone, I am Sarah Stoutner. My husband and I along with our 5 daughters live on a farm between Wellman and Keota. I come from a long line of farmers and am proud to continue that path in life by raising livestock, grain, and children. Along with working on our farm and being a mom, I work as a Director of Production for The Maschhoffs based out of Illinois. I get the opportunity to do many things in this role such as swine animal health, logistics, leadership, and compliance. I am motivated by being active and seeing people thrive to their potential. A few hobbies of mine are sports of all sorts which include following the Iowa State Cyclones, being creative, and living life with my family and friends.

As your Fundraising lead on the Cornerstone Building Project, I appreciate all of your support and ideas as we navigate the Campaign as Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
